DEVON WEDDING VENUES
St Audries Park Photographer
I was honoured to photograph Becky and Michael’s wedding a few months ago. Becoming a St Audries Park wedding photographer for the day was a first for me. St Audries is a breathtaking location that I’ve always wanted to photograph. I look forward to shooting my next wedding there. I was looking forward to this wedding as I knew Becki & Mike were super chilled out about their day. I knew Mike’s family after shooting his big brother Andrew’s wedding at Saunton a few years ago.
I love photographing awesome couples in amazing locations like this. I started my day shooting at in the main house of St Audries where Becky, her Mum and bridesmaids got ready for the day. As the makeup was applied and everyones hair was finished off I captured the small details and the developing story.
Their ceremony was held at the venue in the beautiful Victorian Orangerie. This building has the most amazing light, even on dull days. We were treated to few songs by Clive, Mike’s Dad, and his friends who sing in a Quartet. They sang at the end of the ceremony and out in the garden in the Autumn sunshine whilst everyone sipped champeragne.
Just before they stepped into the hall for their wedding breakfast I caught the newlyweds for a few moments to shoot them in the Great Hall. There were some amazing shards of light coming into the room as you can see above, an opportunity not to be missed.
The sun showed its face and made the day nice and bright, if a bit breezy. This really lifted the light inside the venue and all the guests were able to enjoy the grounds. As the newlyweds shared a few moments and a few glasses of bubbles with their guests it was time for me to photograph more of their story as the reception started.
As well as having a thoroughly incredible day, it was just a joy to photograph Becky and Mike’s wedding, I wish you a long and happy future.
