"We LOVE them! Thank you so much for making it such a brilliant day, regardless of the weather you made sure we had great photos"
On a very soggy day in September Helen & Mark tied the knot at The Old Barn near Clovelly. Being England we are all used to a bit of the wet stuff so when it decided to stay for the day we weren't surprised. Despite this everyone enjoyed their day and had a great time.
For the first time ever ( I've shot around 300 weddings ) I thought I might not make it to the wedding on time, North Devon Highways had seen in their wisdom to fix Bideford Bridge on the Saturday and the traffic was horrific. I sat in the car, having left loads of time as I usually do, in a state of panic. Move, move, the lights were super slow and when I finally made it through them I'm pretty sure I broke the world landspeed record to make sure I got to the venue.
I made it with minutes to spare, Mark calmed me as I walked in and said that I looked worse than he felt, cheers, butterflies in his belly, rain running down my face, what a pair, LOL. In stark contrast a few minutes later, Helen looked calm and radiant as she walked down the aisle on her Dad's arm, a big smile on her face.
There were some great moments during the day, guests queing for ice cream in the rain, only in England, the newlyweds breaking the cake knife, tough cake or crap knife? you decide, see below, hilarious, the new Mr & Mrs Barrett having their first dance on the bumper car rink, thats a first, Mark and his mates getting carried away in the Star Wars display and Tom Rose coming along to thirll the guests with his close up magic. Some great moments and wonderful memories all round. Congratualtions guys, Mike.
