Lucy and Gary celebrated their wedding in the Autumn and I was thrilled to be part of such a fantastic celebration. Lucy arrived with her dad and was excited that finally, she could walk down the aisle to marry her soul mate. The ceremony was held at Morthoe Church which is a fantastic location. It was the perfect setting for Lucy and Gary to say their wedding vows and tie the knot.
Working as a wedding photographer in Devon offers fantastic opportunities to cover ceremonies like this and with stunning scenery along the coast we shot some beautiful portraits above Grunta Beach. I sometimes get asked how do you shoot portraits when there is a large difference in height, well, check out the photo above, this is Gary with his legs spread super wide so he's a simliar height. But he was so tall and his legs so wide that I thought the bottom half made for a great photo.
Once at the Sandy Cove Hotel, the venue for their wedding breakfast and and reception I enjoyed drifting among the guests to take the best shots and witness the stories unfold as the hours went by. The sun shone for most of the day, which is what all brides wish for on their wedding day, and helped make nice bold colourful photographs. After the hearty breakfast, everyone waited eagerly for the speakers to deliver their messages. Every speech is unique and I never get bored of photographing them. People were dancing for hours, enjoying the moment as bride and groom were showing off their best moves.
This was Lucy's reaction to seeing all of their wedding photos and few weeks later.
"There are not words for how much we love our photos! Thank you so,so much. It has been so lovely to spend the last hour reliving the day. You captured exactly what the day felt like and so many other details. Thank you so much Mike"
Congratualtions guys on a fab wedding and thank you for your comments, I always love to get feedback like this, it makes all the hard work worthwhile.
