Tell me about your story pre your wedding.
I grew up with parents from the 60's and love laid back carefree occasions. My dress was a floaty number I found at a snip from the online Artisan shop Etsy. Will chose a blue suit to make my flowers and flower crown pop. As for details it was all about the ambience, the lights and the naturally beautiful rustic barn set the scene. My laidback approach went as far as allowing the bridemaids to pick their own dresses so they could present themselves as they liked. No matchy matchy for me.
Our friend Stuart is a fantastic guitarist and can play many styles, for the wedding he created an original swing jazz set with us and the atmosphere in mind. He did an acoustic version of 'Hey there Delilah' by Plain White T's as that was what we heard playing everywhere when we met. We later had a disco, but because it was a smallish wedding we probably didn't need it. We chose to have our first dance to 'The Sea Of Love' by Cat Power.
Don't sweat the small stuff it really doesnt matter. Also if you can make use of friends and families talents, that way your wedding becomes much more personal and heartfelt. We really loved having friends and family on site the next day as it felt like our day was prolonged as most brides say the day goes super quick.
I love art so someone with an artistic flair, someone who could make the pictures personal to us, relaxed, fun, humourous but also natural and beautiful. It was also important to me that they made use of light and could be flexible with the environment.
We absolutely loved working with you Mike, and you fitted in with the guests and made us feel really comfortable. We had lots compliments from friends about how professional but fun and approachable you were. The photos are beautiful and perfect mementos for us.
