Its been a while since I blogged, the start of 2017 has been a little crazy with all sorts going on, but now, I'm back to blog. Becky & Guss' wedding at The Sandy Cove Hotel was my first to photograph in 2017, only a half day but it was good to get back in the swing of things after a quiet winter. I had not met the couple prior to their day but had chatted to Becky a couple of times and we'd been exchanging emails for months so it was great to finally meet them in person. The skies were a little unfriendly so they decided to go inside for their ceremony, the view form there is still amazing.
Even though it was raining Becky still wanted to brave the beach for some photos, something she had said from day one she wanted to do. So with brolly in hand and my camera in the other we headed to Hele Beach. The weather got worse, thanks! and we had to take shelter in the little archways overlooking the beach. But it was one of those moments that happen at weddings, not at all planned. In the arch way next to the one we were sheltering in, there were a group of children who were having a birthday party, on the beach, in the rain, Devonians! They had bubbles :) One of the mum's asked if we wanted the children to blow bubbles in front of the couple, of course I said. I had alittle line of six kids to my left blowing bubbles, above being the my favourite resulting shot. The kids were really excited to have helped and I even spotted a few pics on FB later that day. Becky didnt stop talking about it, thanks again to the family and kids.
At this point I was kind of finished, but being my first 2017 I decided to return later in the evening for their first dance, someone had also mentioned fireworks. Its always good to get back into the groove, so this added hour and the resulting photos were a great start to my busiest year so far. Congrats B&G, Mike
