In the last of my 2016 weddings I photographed the wedding on Silpa & Scott at The Saunton Sands Hotel. This was the second of three weddings they were having! The first was a small intimate affair in Mauritius, this one in the UK with a kind of English vibe, the last will be at the end of April at Bhaktivedanta Manor for their Indian vide wedding. Brides tell me how hard it is to organise one wedding, but three! crazy pair.
The day was very jolly one with lots of big smiles and good humour, I had an amazing time with all of the families and friends such was the warm welcome I got from all. This wedding wasn't the official one, that was in Mauritius, but it had all the elements of one. Walking down the aisle, readings and ring exchange with the talented Tamsin Ball singing throughout. They also had a sand ceremony where sand form both the Mauritian beach and Saunton beach were mixed. There was a bit of a problem with the beautiful dry golden sand from Mauritus trying to mix with the wet cloying British Saunton sand but it created smiles and laughter all round. After a little drinks reception the three of us headed down to the beach, the light was amazing, some would say grey, but for photos its great. Soft shadows and beautiful muted colours suited the style of their wedding perfectly. At one point they ran down the beach to stop a Royal Marine convoy so they could have a photo with it, a great moment.
Congratulations S&S on your fantastic day, have fun at your third wedding and I look forward to catching up for a pint or two, Mike.
