I normally start off a new wedding photography post with a photo of the Bride and Groom, but this wedding at The Saunton Sands Hotel gave me some of my favourite photos from a Saunton wedding, the above being one of them.
The warmth from all involoved was amazing, Amy & Andrew, of course, but it was the extended family too. Both sets of parents welcomed me warmly, especially the Dad's, a very comic duo I'll find hard to forget :)
The day started out with Amy, her parents and bridesmaids at the hotel with the very talented Hannah of Brighteye Beauty doing the make up and hair being done by the ladies from Tangles. I then headed downstairs to find Andrew and his three best men, one being his brother Michael, whose wedding I am photographing next year. What followed was another wonderful wedding at Saunton. Although its a big hotel it seems to have a very relaxed vibe to the place, I think its being by the sea and no matter what the weather, unless its heavy rain, the guests always make their way to the beach to dip their toes or just for a wander. This day was a bit chilly but the group still went for a paddle, hence the shot above, they said it was freezing, it certainly looked it from the reactions as a wave washed in up the back of their legs :)
With bride and groom I headed up into the dunes for a few photos as the sun was starting to go down, no matter how many times I go into those dunes I still find new angle and places for great photos, such is the variety of location.
Charlie Chaplin??? Just need a bowler hat and cane :)
Thankyou to Marc who helped as my second shooter at this wedding.
